How To Refresh Your Foam

Revive Your Cushions with Dacron Wrap

Is your cushion foam feeling tired or looking a little flat? Instead of buying new foam, give your cushions a new lease on life with Dacron wrap! Dacron is a soft, polyester fiberfill that can be wrapped around your cushion foam to add softness, fullness, and shape retention.

How to Use Dacron to Refresh Your Cushions:

  1. Measure Your Foam: Start by measuring the length, width, and height of your cushion foam. This will help you determine how much Dacron you’ll need.
  2. Cut the Dacron: Cut the Dacron slightly larger than your foam size, leaving some excess to fully cover the top and bottom of the cushion.
  3. Apply Adhesive: Use 3M fabric adhesive (recommended) to lightly spray the foam and press the Dacron onto it. Wrap the Dacron around the front, top, and bottom, but avoid the area where the zipper will be to prevent it from getting caught.
  4. Trim Excess Dacron: After gluing, trim the Dacron back to the exact size of the foam so it’s smooth and even.
  5. Use Gloves: Be sure to wear gloves while using adhesive to avoid contact with your skin.
Wrapping your foam with Dacron adds a plush layer, improving the shape and comfort of your cushions. It’s a quick and affordable way to bring your cushions back to life without needing new foam!
